The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C could be the budget-friendly PC controller you need, arriving next month.
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C has been revealed as a dedicated PC version of the well-known brand's previous budget controller, the 8BitDo Ultimate C.
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C is designed to work with both PCs and Android devices and includes a 2.4GHz dongle for wireless play on PCs. Android users can connect via Bluetooth, and USB-C is also an option for those who prefer a wired setup.
This new controller is available in four striking pastel-themed colors: Green, Mint, Peach, and Purple. These colors are more visually appealing than the typical black, white, and gray found on many top PC controllers.
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C's most attractive aspect, especially for those familiar with the brand, is its affordable price. Similar to the former Ultimate C, this new PC-specific model is priced at $29.99 (around £24.99 / AU$45—though regional pricing has yet to be disclosed).
Considering the controller includes drift-resistant Hall effect thumbsticks and triggers, as well as two remappable bumpers—features often found on pricier Pro-style gamepads—the price is quite reasonable. Additionally, the controller appears to have a turbo function like previous models, with some enhancements to the bumpers and D-pad.
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C is available for pre-order now on 8BitDo's Amazon store page. It is expected to ship on July 15 in the US. If you seek an affordable controller that still offers excellent features and wireless connectivity, the Ultimate 2C should be considered.
