Livestreamer Conquers Baldur's Gate 3 Hardest Mode with Unprecedented Self-Imposed Challenges

A player of Baldur's Gate 3 escalated the difficulty of the game's toughest setting by adopting an even more radical set of constraints: forbidding the use of companions, engaging helpers, taking extensive breaks, consuming tadpoles for powers, engaging in commerce, and refraining from pilferage. This individual livestreamer not only established the most torturous self-imposed challenge but also demonstrated the capability to conquer the game under the harshest conditions imaginable.

Luality, the livestreamer in question, is accustomed to imposing severe challenges upon herself, having previously conquered the game's most formidable bosses in solitary combat (Interestingly, this is the same individual who experienced the rare occurrence of rolling four natural ones in succession last year). She has escalated her propensity for self-imposed hardship to a terrifyingly cruel level during this latest endeavor.

"After countless hours and brushes with failure, we conquered Baldur's Gate 3 Honor mode," Luality shared via social media. Achieving victory on the game's most challenging difficulty level is an impressive achievement in itself; however, the streamer managed this feat while integrating multiple additional extreme challenges. Luality's gameplay eliminated the use of companions, transactions or thievery with NPCs, acquisition of powers from consuming tadpoles, help from hires via Withers, and any form of rest to regenerate health.

In response to inquiries about her method for replenishing spell slots, Luality's straightforward response was, "We don't."

Other streamers have indeed completed Baldur's Gate 3 while foregoing long breaks, which has proven to be an arduous challenge on its own. Consequently, the level of difficulty in Luality's gameplay, given her combination of several added restrictions, can only be described as punishing.

Yet, it appears Luality intends to elevate the challenge further. "Next challenge, we will have to make it even more difficult," she declared, leaving us to ponder the extremes yet to be pursued. Previous attempts by a pacifist to progress 20 hours without engaging in combat suggest the bounds of possibility are vast indeed.

"This playthrough was among my favorites," the streamer remarked, undeterred, "the limitations were such that finding any item in chests and random boxes became thrilling. Essentially, we were restricted to healing with only the potions discovered in the world, making the smaller aspects of the game immensely enjoyable!"

The writer behind Baldur’s Gate 3 expressed indifference towards the direction of a possible sequel to the RPG, with a singular stipulation that it should not be produced solely for the purpose of financial gains in the next fiscal quarter.
