PayPal plans to soon provide new opportunities for sellers and buyers who use the iPhone, Apple Pay, and other services. The platform plans to add a Tap to Pay feature for merchants who use the app with an iPhone, and it will now support Apple Pay at checkout. The announcement of this update was officially made by PayPal in the report for the third quarter of the current year. This decision was made as part of a closer collaboration with Apple in order to make the use of Venmo and PayPal even more convenient for buyers and sellers.
Dan Schulman, PayPal Chief Executive Officer, in a statement, underlined the company's commitment to working with Apple to create a positive consumer experience. One such step is Tap to Pay, which will allow merchants to accept contactless credit and debit cards, as well as mobile wallets, including Apple Pay. Also, after the update, Apple Pay will be available as a payment method as unbranded checkout flows for a number of merchant platforms, including the PayPal Commerce Platform. The company has big plans for the coming year. It will primarily affect the availability of debit and credit cards from the Venmo and PayPal networks, which will ensure Apple Pay support absolutely everywhere.
Tap to Pay is a new feature for iPhone owners that is currently available through Square's merchant app and in Apple Stores. It is very useful for instant payment with your iPhone, for which the buyer must bring his Apple Watch or iPhone to the seller's iPhone and the necessary amount of money will be debited. The payment is made using secure NFC technology.
